Complete History
I have to confess something: I dropped out of college to read all the comics of Spider-Man (technically not all of them, but I did read around 3,000 comics).
Do I regret making that decision? Maybe a little, but one thing is certain: the stories of the friendly neighbor made me the person I am today and marked me for the rest of my life.
Although the quality of Spider-Man comics remained consistent until the 90s (excellent material exists, but personally, nothing compares to the 20th century, with the exception of JMS), I believe it’s worth reading up to the modern era of Spider-Man at least once in a lifetime due to its immense cultural impact. Unless, of course, you want to miss out on the time Peter was temporarily replaced by his long-lost clone Ben Reilly in the Clone Saga, or the era that served as the basis for the acclaimed Insomniac game, the Dan Slott era…
